The Highland regiments have
always jealously guarded their Highland
distinctions, and the Highland Light Infantry was
certainly no exception. While stationed in India in
1935, it soon became apparent that their tartan
trews were unsuitable for service in such a hot
climate. Not being a kilted regiment, but
determined not to abandon the tartan, the
regimental staff came up with this startling
innovation - the only tartan shorts ever worn by
the British Army.
These are unpainted
and unassembled metal hobby kits.
Unless otherwise noted, these kits are in the
International 54mm
Collectors Scale. Standing figurines are approx.
2-1/2" - 3" tall.
