The increased sophistication
of modern aircraft has brought on a corresponding
increase in the complexity of the equipment worn by
the men and women who fly them. The modern pilot
wears not only the pressurized "G-suit" and other
equipment necessary to fly the plane, but also a
complicated life support system should they have to
bail out, ranging from the complex parachute and
ejection systems to the various flares, rations,
radar beacons, and ammunition to sustain them on
the ground until help arrives.
