While the truth of the Navy
assertion that their pilots were superior to the
Army's is debatable, there is no doubt that the
Navy's carrier-based pilots were a special breed
unto themselves. Not only was the carrier pilot
faced with the usual perils of air combat, but he
was saddled with the additional difficulty of
taking off and landing on a floating landing strip
barely two hundred yards long, which might be
tossing in a storm, under fire, on fire, badly
damaged, or simply missing when he
returned.
These are unpainted
and unassembled metal hobby kits.
Unless otherwise noted, these kits are in the
International 54mm
Collectors Scale. Standing figurines are approx.
2-1/2" - 3" tall.
