FOOT KNIGHT, 1400'S
(RETAIL US$14.99)
The signing, by Richard
II of England and Charles VI of France, of the
Treaty of Paris in 1396 was meant to end the
Hundred Years War. However, civil strife in
both countries, as well as the rest of Europe,
during this period, made the peace treaty a
mockery. Intrigue and numerous small clashes
resulted. Upon the death of Charles, in 1415, Henry
VI of England laid claim to the Throne of France.
On August 12 he took an army of 12,000 and invaded
France. After the brilliant victory at Agincourt on
October 25, 1415, the English were cautious to
follow up their success, resulting in their
eventual expulsion, 38 years later, from French
soil. NOTE: Our illustration is of the Earl of
Oxford; however, minimal research will lead you to
various examples of the heraldry of this period.
These are unpainted
and unassembled metal hobby kits.
Unless otherwise noted, these kits are in the
International 54mm
Collectors Scale. Standing figurines are approx.
2-1/2" - 3" tall.
