America's modern day Santa
Claus is a composite character that has evolved
over the years from the beloved gift-givers of many
lands. Two men greatly influenced the appearance of
"Jolly Old St. Nick"; Dr. Clement Moore who wrote
"A Visit From St. Nicholas" in 1822 and artist
Thomas Nast whose 1863 cartoons first pictured him
in a red fur-trimmed suit.
These are unpainted
and unassembled metal hobby kits.
