US CAVALRY NCO, INDIAN WARS, 1870-90
(Retail US$17.00)
At the conclusion of the
Civil War, the U.S. Army was one of the finest
military machines in the world, able to meet any of
the great powers on equal footing. In the last half
of the 19th century, the Army faced only two
enemies, the Indians and the U.S. Congress. While
the frontier forces were struggling with the
Indians, the congress, upholding the traditions of
incompetence and stupidity it had established under
the Continental Congress, decimated the army. By
1873, the U.S. Army was down to 25,000 men of whom
15,000 were on the frontier covering an area of
over a million square miles.
These are unpainted
and unassembled metal hobby kits.
Unless otherwise noted, these kits are in the
International 54mm
Collectors Scale. Standing figurines are approx.
2-1/2" - 3" tall.
