Valiant Miniature Kit# 9884 - Amazon Warrior. Throughout the history of classical Greece there were persistent legends of a race of female warriors who lived to the NE, somewhere on the shores of the Black Sea. There is no known historical basis for the myth; Yet many legends to of Greek Heroes fighting these Amazons, and some like Theseus, are said to have married Amazon-Warrior Queens. One feature which persists in the legends is the claim that the fierce women warriors removed the right breast surgically, so as to pull war-bows more easily. Our model is taken from the style of the 4th Century B.C. carving on the Temple of Artemis at Ephesus. This item is an unpainted and unassembled metal hobby kits. Standing figurines are approx. 2-1/2" - 3" tall. Kit is recommended for ages 8+ |
