Valiant Miniature Kit# 9781 - Highland Light Infantry, India 1935. The Highland regiments have always jealously guarded their Highland distinctions, and the Highland Light Infantry was certainly no exception. While stationed in India in 1935, it soon became apparent that their tartan trews were unsuitable for service in such a hot climate. Not being a kilted regiment, but determined not to abandon the tartan, the regimental staff came up with this startling innovation - the only tartan shorts ever worn by the British Army.
