Valiant Miniature Kit# 9950 - Northwest Mounted Police, Full Dress Uniform, 1898. In 1898 the N.W.M.P. adopted a new dress uniform. This uniform closely followed the British Army regulations for the period. The tunic was tailored to British Light Dragoon standards, down to the Austrian Knots on the cuffs. The blue pants, new to the Mounties, were also British Army regulation. The sword was of the British Light Cavalry pattern.
